OK, so I will take a minute to tell you the story behind this pesky little mantis. We were driving home from Karate Saturday afternoon and Gavin started freaking out which he normally does when he sees a bug. Not all little boys love bugs ;). Anyway, when we got home I told him I was going to get it out. He said, "How are you going to get him out mom? Pull him out by his ear?" LOL
So I tried to get him to climb on a shoe so I could carry him elsewhere. Instead he climbed up under the passenger seat and I couldn't see him anymore. I left the Van door open for a couple of hours hoping he would find his way out. I don't know what it is about praying mantises, but they really freak me out. I remember them always being in the barn growing up, and I remember them hissing at me. Anyway on Sunday we decided to take a drive up in the mountains for some family time and to enjoy the nice fall weather. It was beautiful by the way. On our way up I looked over and saw my little friend. I said, "David don't freak out, and I got the camera for a few shots before I tried to figure out how I would get rid of him once and for all. This picture is of David telling me to get rid of it and stop taking pictures. He was very calm I should add, and not scared like I would have been if he was riding on my shoulder. Ewww.... Finally I got an empty band aid box, put it in front of him and he crawled in. Then he took a little flying lesson out my window. I better not see that nasty little thing again. I wouldn't be surprised if he grabbed onto the outside of my car and rode with us all the way home, like on a bee movie. ;) Ick!

So funny! I love stories like that and way to go on getting a picture to remember it by!
He looks so calm! I bet he was screaming like a girl inside. ;) Btw, super cute pics!
I tagged you with a quirky thing. Check out my site to see what it is all about. I usually don't do them, but I like this one for some reason.
BTW I don't know if I am quirky or something I love mantis'. Maybe it is because I can see there eyes. But I don't like when they are big enough to hiss!!!
LOL...too funny!
hi melody - so i got kapria's tutu skirt at claire's boutique for $7.50! i was surprised at how inexpensive it was. It's size 0-3 months but is still big on her. so they had tons of colors. when i asked the girl if they had them all year long, she said "No. they're a holiday item."
So, they have them for halloween. just thought you might like to know about that deal. maybe you can find better ones on ebay though.
