Darn air guitar will always get ya in trouble...

Well today was the day! I got my first phone call home from Gavin's teacher. His teacher this year is one that has been described as no nonsense. I really don't have a problem with that. Gavin could use that approach. If someone is too "nice" he will test his limits and get away with a little too much. However, I did have to chuckle today when Mrs. Spencer called clearly perturbed because Gavin had been disrupting the class. Doing what you ask? Well if my title didn't give it away... for playing air guitar. That's right! Apparently the kids thought it was very funny which only added to the problem. There is a little stage in the classroom where the kids climb up and read books during rotations. I guess the stage was a little too much for him to resist a performance. Is it being a horrible mother if I say I was sad I missed it? ;). I laughed a little bit on the phone when Mr's Spencer told me his offense. I quickly gathered from the tone of her voice this was no laughing matter.

I talked to Gavin after school and explained to him how much I loved his silliness and loved how he always made everyone laugh, but when he is at school it should be saved for recess. Now I just hope this is the last call I get... at least for a while. "sigh"

That is funny, I can see why you chuckled on the phone. He is a very entertaining kid. I hope he doesn't lose that.
