Gavin's last day of school

Last Thursday was Gavin's last day of pre-school. I can hardly believe it is over already. He has had a wonderful year, and has been blessed with amazing teachers who just showered him with love. I struggled a bit at first when I was deciding whether or not to put him in pre-school. Was he too young to be away from me that much? Was it really necessary, or was it more for me so I got a break three days a week? Because there is a three year gap between Gavin and his sister I thought that socially this experience would be good for him. I wanted him to have the opportunity to play with and socialize with kids his own age on a regular basis. As you know Gavin is full of energy and he really needs as many outlets as possible to "get the wiggles out", as well as learn to be calm in a structured environment. He has a couple of friends around our neighborhood, but one little girl is already in school and the other is in day care. So opportunities to play with them are few and far between... especially during the winter. Anyway, what I am trying to say is this has really been wonderful for him in so many ways. His class only had about ten kids in it, and there were four teachers there on a regular basis, with a speech teacher who also came in and helped. These teachers just loved him to pieces. There was rarely a day that would go by when I would pick him up and not hear a positive comment about him. One teacher in particular, Debbie was always especially sweet with him. He had lots of stories to tell me about Debbie and what they did or talked about. So here are a few pictures from his last day of school.

If any of his teachers are reading this I want to say thank you for a wonderful year and thank you for all the love you showed my little Gavin. We were very blessed to have had you in our lives. A special thanks to Kathleen and all your hard work this year as well!!

Enjoy!!
